By giving computers the ability to sense and understand everyday human activities, Dr. Scott Davidoff teaches machines to help people accomplish their everyday tasks. As a researcher of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Dr. Davidoff uses Machine Learning to create new intelligent mobile and social applications—like todo lists and calendars—and studies how they affect people and societies. Dr. Davidoff has also developed domestic robots for Microsoft Research, and as Principal of Scott Davidoff Design, brought new concepts to life for companies like AOL, SBC Ameritech and TV Guide.
His work has been featured on Gizmodo, Engadget, and Graphis Magazine. His research is funded by grants from the National Science Foundation and Google Research. Dr. Davidoff has a Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction, an MS in Computer Science (Research) and an M.HCI in Human-Computer Interaction (Practice), all from Carnegie Mellon.

Carolyn spent seven years at MTV Networks. Her last role was as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of U.S. Ad Sales for MTV Networks where she oversaw strategic planning, operations and finance for MTVN’s U.S. Ad Sales department. She also was responsible for MTVN's Direct Response business and the cross platform, cross brand strategic sales and marketing group called Generator.
Carolyn has also worked at Primedia Inc., where she was Vice President and General Manager of several digital businesses, and held business development positions at brands including Zagat Survey and Walt Disney Imagineering. She is a board member of the Effies and dmg.
Carolyn holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and communications from Villanova University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She also obtained a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard where she was a Baker Scholar.

Fabian Hemmert is a design researcher, born and raised in Germany. During his studies towards an M.A. degree in Interface Design, he worked for Nintendo of Europe and Marvel Comics.
He currently finishes his PhD at the Berlin University of the Arts, in cooperation with Deutsche Telekom Laboratories. His thesis focuses on new ways of interacting with technology.
His theoretical work, concerned mainly with the concepts of ‘Thinghood’ and ‘Embodiment’, is much inspired by the philosophy of Martin Heidegger, and his account of the ‘coming into the world’ of things.
Fabian is considered one of the leading experts for new ways of mobile telecommunication, having presented his work at multiple visionary events, including TED Global, CeBIT, TEDxBerlin, TEDxSalzburg, Lift Conference, the EuroVision TV Summit and the Chaos Communication Congress.

Scott M. Jensen works for The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC) as vice president of digital product, applications, joining an already industry-leading team. In this new role, Jensen is responsible for defining the strategy and managing all aspects of TWCC’s mobile, Desktop and interactive television products globally. He is based in the company’s New York office but will also spend much of his time at TWCC’s headquarters in Atlanta.
With 16 years experience of forming and profitably growing media and technology companies, Jensen has successfully launched digital content and initiated partnerships with world-class brands for motion pictures, television, Internet and mobile devices . Prior to joining TWCC, he worked with Nokia, Inc, where he served as director and head of the global product marketing team within the media group. Previously, he served as CEO and president at Vindigo (formerly known as Zingy), a mobile publisher with its own ‘Vindigo City Guide’ and top-selling products developed in partnership with AOL/MapQuest and The New York Times, among others.
As vice president at Hands-On Mobile (formerly Mforma), Jensen created and maintained a leading partner portfolio that included Activision, CBS, Hasbro, Marvel, NCAA, Paramount and Universal Studios. While president of NuvoStudios, an award-winning mobile games studio, he launched Disney’s initial mobile games suite and created the first mobile game in the United States with paid third-party sponsorship. Previously Jensen founded and sold an online fantasy sports company, helped launch the first online film festival with The Sundance Institute, and practiced as an entertainment lawyer.
Jensen has served as strategic advisor for clients such as Nielsen and Omnicom’s The Marketing Arm, as mobile advisory board member for the Games Developers Conference, and on the Mobile Marketing Association’s privacy committee. A native of Toms River, NJ, Jensen received a juris doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Rutgers University, and he is an active member of the State Bar of California.

Barry Judge is executive vice president, chief marketing officer for Best Buy Co., Inc., a multinational retailer of technology and entertainment products and services. In this role, Judge provides overall vision and leadership to all areas of marketing for the enterprise, including brand management, customer research and development, trend, promotions, advertising, marketing communications, internal communications and public affairs.
Judge joined Best Buy as a member of its e-commerce team in November 1999. He played an integral role in the 2000 launch of BestBuy.com and helped pioneer the company’s multi-channel consumer marketing and direct marketing efforts. In 2006, his role as senior vice president of marketing expanded to include oversight of the company’s customer research and development capability to facilitate increased ingenuity in service of customers and focus on growth. He was named chief marketing officer in 2008, and promoted to executive vice president and chief marketing officer in 2009.
He began his career at The Direct Marketing Group and has held positions ranging from marketing assistant to product group manager with Young & Rubicam, Coca Cola USA, The Quaker Oats Company and the Pillsbury Company. He also served as vice president of marketing for Caribou Coffee Company.

Previously, Jessica spent more than nine years in software engineering at Apple. She is listed as inventor on 10 US patents, and is a Dartmouth graduate. From 2004-07, he was Senior Vice President, Integrated Marketing for Citigoup’s Global Consumer Group. He was responsible for the development of integrated marketing strategy and execution of a multi-channel customer communications program for a premier loyalty program.
Vik also served as a Senior Partner at Prime Access / RMG Connect, a JWT + Ogilvy One company specializing in direct, loyalty and interactive marketing using online and offline channels.
As Managing Director at Zefer Technologies/Modem Media, Vik oversaw the launch of the Boston-based interactive agency’s New York office. He also served in senior global marketing positions at PepsiCo where he developed and oversaw the implementation of marketing strategies.

Previously, Kelly was president of AOL Media Networks from 2004-2007, where he was responsible for all of AOL’s advertising properties globally. Kelly effected enormous change at AOL and in the industry by pioneering the media network strategy through a number of successful acquisitions such as Advertising.com and Third Screen Media. Under his leadership, AOL was repositioned in the media and advertising marketplace and experienced significant advertising revenue growth. Prior to this position within Time Warner, Kelly also served as president of global marketing at Time Warner, working with all its companies to bring cross-platform marketing solutions to major advertisers.
Kelly began his media career in 1980 at the Chicago Tribune. In 1983 he began a 17 year run at Time Inc., first at Fortune magazine then as part of the launch team of Entertainment Weekly, eventually becoming EW’s publisher. Kelly was named Publisher of the Year twice during the four years he served in that role.
A proven entrepreneur, in 2000 Kelly founded American Town Network (www.americantowns.com), a locally focused and community-based digital platform, serving as CEO and bringing the company from concept to operating entity. Today, ATN is the largest “hyper-local” platform.

For 13 years, Tony built his career as a TV sales rep and sales manager for the likes of ABC-TV and New World (at which point he transitioned into the digital space with GeoCities). From there, Mojiva, Inc’s CEO, Dave Gwozdz, hired Tony at DoubleClick to develop specialized programs for advertisers and agencies. The success of these programs garnered press interest and landed Tony on the front page of the Wall Street Journal in ’98.
After his time with DoubleClick, Tony moved to Lot21, a pioneering digital agency, which was soon acquired by Carat Interactive in ‘02. From 2002 to 2006, with a broad range of both above-the-line and digital experience, he joined Yahoo and consulted with major agencies on their accounts. This ultimately led to Tony being the only four-time Platinum Sales Award MVP during his time at Yahoo.
With these enviable accolades, Tony’s career gained momentum when he joined YouTube as their original VP of Sales. Tony developed and led the YouTube revenue strategy, along with the hiring and training of the team members in sales, account management, and sales operations up until its acquisition.
In November of 2006, following the YouTube acquisition by Google, Tony joined AdMob as VP of Sales, where he oversaw both brand and DR advertising strategy, hiring and training sales and account management, and advertising operations. AdMob was acquired by Google in May of 2010.

As AOL’s former Chief Privacy Officer and SVP for Consumer Advocacy, Jules was responsible for ensuring that AOL’s users could trust the company with their information and for educating employees about best practices for advertising, content, and product development.
Jules previously served for four years as Vice President, Integrity Assurance, at America Online Inc. The Integrity Assurance team was responsible for a wide range of consumer protection and risk management issues for AOL’s brands (America Online, AIM, Netscape, Compuserve, Mapquest, MoviePhone, Spinner, WinAmp, ICQ, Advertising.com) including privacy, advertising policy, content and community standards, product standards, parental controls, safety and accessibility for users with disabilities.
From March 2000 through April 2002, Jules was Chief Privacy Officer and Special Counsel at DoubleClick, the advertising and marketing technology company that at the time was the largest internet company in New York City. In that role, he worked with DoubleClick clients to institute and police their privacy policies and managed compliance with data protection requirements for DoubleClick subsidiaries world-wide. In his Special Counsel role, Jules oversaw DoubleClick’s government affairs activities and consumer related advertising practices.
From January 1, 1998 until he joined DoubleClick in March 2000, Jules served as the NYC Consumer Affairs Commissioner for Mayor Rudolph Giuliani. As New York City’s chief consumer law enforcement official, Jules was responsible for ensuring that all consumer advertising and sales complied with City, State and Federal consumer protection laws.
Jules served as an elected member of the New York State Assembly from 1994 to 1997. From November 1992 through 1993, Jules was a legislative aide to Congressman Charles Schumer and was a District Representative for Congressman Steve Solarz from 1990 to 1992.
Jules practiced law in the New York office of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan from 1989 to 1990. He is a graduate of New York University School of Law and Yeshiva University, and is admitted to the Bars of New York, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C.
